I usually don’t comment on these blogs, but I wanted to share something. I totally agree with the dislike of people that abuse the system. I was married into a family likes this for a short time. Although it felt like forever. Neither of the parents worked, they both collect disability and SSI for their 3 youngest children. They are constantly at the doctor for all kinds of silly things. I feel if your going to be a hypochondriac, not just about yourself but for your whole family, you should do it on your own dime. Half the time they would go to the doctor get tons of prescriptions and not even use them. Instead like someone mentioned before, they sell them. With all the SSI and disability they have an estimated $2500 a month budget (Not to mention the food stamps) to work with. And somehow they were always running to everyone for money when they couldn’t make ends meet. They even had social services at their home every week, for a year to make sure their house was clean. Like a child’s parent making sure they are cleaning their room. These type of people I don’t agree with. Now I’m not trying to sound all “Holier than thou” because, when I recently divorced and found myself on my own with my two children, I did start getting food stamps and the medical assistance. But at that time I also decided I was done with minimum wage. While I work (only about 32 hours a week though) I also go to school full-time and take care of my children. I thank God everyday for my sister every day, who helps me out with the kids while I’m working or at class. I’m glad I work, because then I don’t feel so guilty for accepting this hand up (which is what I consider it in MY case), And especially for all the other tax payers who make this program possible. Because with it, even if my kids can’t have new toys or new clothes (also agree with the rummage sale shopping is great). Anyway, because of these God sent programs I know my girls aren’t going to bed hungry and that if an emergency should arise, I won’t have to add that medical bill to my plate.

Well I sit here waiting for the Dead Beat so called Dad to pay child support. Child support people do nothing to help at all. they say they will call you back and they don’t, if they aren’t going to make these Dead beats pay than they should make them sign off the child for good. cause these Dead beats don’t pay so why should they have anything to do with the child at all. my child dead beat don’t have nothing to do with him but he shouldn’t have no rights to him as long as he lives. I’m disabled not by chose either, I worked 14 yrs. real hard and Loved my job till one day everything changed for me. I don’t get no help from anyone cause I’m that person if you really need the help go and get it. but I’m hardly making ends meet here and I get No help and don’t plan on it.. I don’t get that much for being on disability cause that is how it works with them too. But i get by on what i get I have a son and he needs things but i get him what he needs and just leave me get by on nothing. I don’t trust or believe people at social services that they can help No cause all they do is try to take children away from you, cause ppl. call and say stuff that isn’t true. I don’t and never will beat my kids, but yes I have them come at least once a month cause my sons so called dead beat dad calls and says things that aren’t true, I sit and tell social services they need to look at ppl. that are really beatting the kids and stay away from here, They don’t come to my home cause i won’t let them I go to them and than i let it all out at there office I tell them how things are, cause when they come to the home yes they can do and say what they want if you go in than you have more control over them all. All I have to say is we all have the wrong last names to get any help from both places, you haveto have a name that they sit and help. that is just like the police they help people that they want too other than that everyone else is crap and get everything put on them. the next person don’t get nothing cause of the name and who you are.. This whole town sucks because they help who they want don’t care about the next person at all… I know alot of people that got so much help from all of them that it makes me sick.. I’m so done with all those places they can all go to …., cause one day i hope they find themselfs out on the streets looking for a place to live and food, and money…..than they can be with all those dead beat dads and low life ppl. that live in these apartments and get everything given to them. I have my own place and I’m glad i have a place to call home, but still why can’t we get the help like those other ppl. is it cause i own my own home or what I’m not living in those run down apartments that are crap, and have to live so close to ppl. that won’t go and get a job. they are able to work so go and get a job.. If i could of stayed working i would of but my doctor said No way, and i have to pay out of my pocket to pay all doctor bill’s and my sons and I’m not behind on paying them either. all my bills get payed they meant not be payed on time but they get payed.. those people don’t know how to pay for all those bill’s like we all have. never will know how cause they get help for all bill’s.. and that is sad and sick…

Well i have alot to say here.. Well Social Services is just like the Child support, They help who they want and don’t care that you are living with nothing. besides what u can get. I worked 14 yrs. became disabled and can’t work. Well Child support won’t help me so I get nothing for help there they must be afraid to tell him he has to pay or what. But I’m getting sick of this I call and noone will call me back.. All i have to say if I could work i would cause than i wouldn’t have to sit here and wait for my check to come from Disablity.. and it’s nothing it don’t pay all my bills and I don’t get No help from social services cause I have the wrong last name or I just look to well dressed or something So me and my son sit here with hardly any food, and he is 2 yrs. old has no diapers so i have to put him on the potty all the time and than that don’t work at all.. All I’m saying they should worry about getting these Dead Beat Dads to pay and also Social services all they do is sit in there offices and tell you how its going to be or else they don’t help you at all.
Well this town and ppl. that work at Child support and Social Services if it was you’s being treated like crap and not getting support oh believe me you’s would be having a cow living off nothing.. you’s would have the FBI out helping you’s…. So get off your butts and Help people get support do your jobs if your not than close the dam place down cause you’s aren’t doing your Jobs than…..

there is a couple of comments on here that say there has to be a reason for them to come and investigate…….NO THERE DOES NOT…..they have to investigate every report no matter how crazy it sounds………..I do agree that they (the social workers) try to play god………..and most of the time they are meddling where they don’t belong and I think they should spend their time better by investigating and saving kids that really need it………and u r correct most of them don’t even have children of their own and haven’t spent any substantial time with children reading files on their desk doesn’t count…….my friend had a honest complaint against her kids fathers girlfriend for abusing her kids while they were visiting their father and social services blew it off like it was nothing…….them kids clung to me and my friend and begged us not to make them go to their dads cause of his girlfriend hurting them and the social worker said she had to send them………and that was after talking to the kids and them telling her all the mean things that their dads girlfriend did to them……she kicked them in the legs and when questioned told the social worker that they were just playing karate…….and the sad thing is the social worker believed her BS and did nothing……….I have very little faith in social workers……..I drive an hour each way to my job and I bust my a** at work and being in customer service can be rough at times….I am a cashier and we r the last person the customers sees before leaving the store and when the have had a bad experience we hear it believe me……….so I sympathize with the working folks out there about supporting ones who won’t work…….I have no problem helping people that are willing to help themselves or are trying as hard as they can and still need help……but the ones who sit on their butts cause they choose to really tick me off……I have arthritis in both my knees and my hip and by the end of a shift I am hurting so bad that I am almost in tears but I do it anyway to benefit my children……….If u can’t work due to a handicap fine I understand If u won’t work due to laziness I have no sympathy for u…….GET OFF YOUR AS*ES AND GET A JOB………….

What a shame that children have to grow up with those type of people as role models. What is wrong with social services? They keep letting the kids go back to that?

And ignorant… Yes, I totally agree. Our tax dollars are put to good use. I didn’t get a raise this year, but thank goodness the slugs of society are getting one. Wouldn’t it be nice to get a nice 14% increase in your grocery budget, and health care that you could only dream to have?

One other note… I love the fact that these people who take advantage of our money also get a tax refund. 11K??? Maybe next vacation I should take a trip out to California and get inseminated with 15 children, get divorced, and of course quit my job. Then maybe I’d have enough to go to Hawaii for a month or two (while my nanny-paid-for-by-the-government stays at home and takes care of all 15 of my kids. Sounds nice.

thank god we spent thousands of dollars trying to rehabilitate the parents so they can get their children back and live like a happy Antigo family should! If we didn’t have all these silly liberal programs, that waste our taxpayer money, they probably would have been in jail long ago and the kids living somewhere where they might have a chance in life!

You are a rare case…I congratulate you for using the system for which it was intended…but many many many people do NOT use the system for which it was intended….I know of an individual who received $11K for her tax refund…is in the system…and is using the money for a Hawaii vacation….damn I would like to take MY tax refund to do that!

both of my parents were drunks my dad died because of it…by your thoughts i should have married a drunk and be one myself… i work 40 plus hrs a week my husband avg.50. i dont drink but once in a great while my husband has a beer after work. i too know that the system can hold you down but you have to want to change to get ahead. i was on afdc once i got over 400 a month in afdc 300 in food stamp my wic i paid 74 a month for rent that had all but 20 a month i had to pay for heat when we got married my husband made 800 a month but we work got off of the system a year later we bought our house
