Change of Plans for Park Near Waukesha Bearings

The park that was planned to be built by Waukesha Bearings is now going to move to the other side of the road, into the FLOOD PLAIN ! Don’t forget to take your swim suit, if you plan to visit.
Why? Waukesha Bearings wants to add on, so the city bent over and gave them that piece of property and changed the plan again. Only problem is, and most do not know it, but Waukesha is looking to sell out! Currently they are still producing, and assuming that they get a buyer, they will add on, otherwise we will have another big empty building.

*********UPDATE***********

You can read more about the new playground/park HERE.

What park by Waukesha Bearings? There is no where to put a park by Waukesha Bearings. I’ve never heard of a park being built by Waukesha Bearings. There are no houses around Waukesha Bearings so why would one be built there in the first place>?

I agree Ignorant, I have heard nothing of this and it would make no sense to build a park in an industrial park. The land is level in that part of the city, so it’s not in a “flood plain”. What I think you’re referring to might be Merit Gear by Antigo Lake? That would make more sense.

  3. Kim says:

Yeah, the park has been moved to 6th and Field and is in a flood plain, how do I know this, I used to live in that area. Anyway, last time it flooded it didn’t flood that side of 6th ave. The park should be fine.

The new playground has been moved to Field and 6th Avenue. They apparently studied the photographs of the flood and determined this area would be ok.

  5. Judy says:

Also just to add, just because Waukesha Bearings or Merit Gear may be looking to sell out, does not mean that the business will leave the Antigo Area. Amron sold out and they are still in Antigo. Also yes, the park is now going to be on 6th and Field, saw the signs up about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully this will be a good location.
