Antigo Farmers’ Market- Old Idea in a New Age

According to the Antigo Daily Journal, the Antigo Farmers’ Market was a great success on it’s first run last Saturday. Many booths were restocking by mid-morning. The market is scheduled to continue each Saturday from 8am to 1pm until mid to late October. The market is held in the old County Market Parking lot on the corner of Fourth Avenue & Superior Street.

If you would like to sell, display or perform at the market, contact Maggie Turnbull at 715-610-0302.

Cannot say I love everything about it having gone two weeks in a row but it is definitely a move in the right direction and everything has to have a starting point. I don’t think Canopy Gardens or Frischs should be there as they already have thier own venues but if the organizers don’t feel it is a problem then I guess it works for them. I will advise anyone who wants to come to it should come early as the produce leaves fast!

It’s very impressive and more people are involved than I originally expected. Just what this community needed!
