Antigo Residents Petitioning for Aldi’s

Apparently some Antigo residents are gathering names on petitions in order to try to get Aldi’s to put a store here.  This has been going on for a bit now and I am told that they are close to meeting their goal.

The petitions are available at:  Hardees, Quality Time, Remington’s and Family Dollar.

Who is the petition being sent to? Aldi’s looked at the now occupied Goodwill section years ago and turned it down. Has something changed?

  3. FYI says:

they sent 1300 signatures to corporate, so we will see what happens

I think that and Aldi’s would be wonderful. My husband and I often times drive to Rhinelander to their Aldi’s. It is a great way to save money, and we all know that we do need to be that way these days. Lets get it here!

  5. What's the problem? says:

We need Aldi’s…whya? I ahve been to the Aldi’s in Rib Mountain and Rhinelander and NEVER buy anything there. Their prices are higher than most local stores. IF you are comparing apples to apples the Aldi prices are more than often higher than local stores.

  6. All for it says:

Not so sure, I am a huge comparison shopper, I go to Aldi’s at least twice a month to stock my pantry. I figured I save on average 200 dollars a month just by getting the majority of my stuff there. There is very few of their products that I do not buy because our family does not like. I hope that it goes through, it would be a great asset to Antigo.

I agree, this town needs any break it can get these days and a discount grocery store would be quite an addition!

ALDIs has lower pricing especially when compared to WALMART AND TRIGGS…..However not everything is a deal, just like Walmart and others have clearance items below cost at times.
