Langlade Hospital – Walk In Complaint

I was very annoyed during my visit to the Walk In the other night.
There were some total morons in the waiting room who were
constantly talking on their cellphone and they were not very polite
about it.  I thought it was too loud.  Then they go into the bathroom
for 10 minutes and you could still hear them on the cellphone!  I
don’t understand why they couldn’t just go outside to talk.

There was a brave little boy sitting there with a huge gash from a
dog bite, and I just couldn’t believe that it took them 20 minutes
to get him help!  Poor kid.

On a better note, the PA and hard-to-find ER nurse were super
nice.

I visited the Walk-In yesterday and was treated very well, as usual. It was SO packed, there are so many people with mono/strep right now and the waiting room was full! My only suggestion would be more staff to assist patients there but as with any place of business in this economic slump, they are working with a skeleton crew. My experience was good, despite the two and a half hour visit.

u can not blame the walk in staff for that moron as u called them being on the phone….if it bothered u so much u should have asked them to talk quietly or go outside…….I am sure the staff was busy taking care of patients and didn’t have time to tell that person to quiet down………I personally would have told them I do not feel well and I would appreciate it if u could talk quietly or go outside to have your conversation………

My grandmother was very ill for a long time, being that she was in the nursing home, and in and out of the Antigo Hospital. One night something happened to her at the nursing home and they had to ship her to the hospital. Well, they had all of the family’s names and contacts for her, but failed to call any one concerning her condition or whereabouts. Only Seven hours later, almost 2 in the afternoon, some one finally call our family to let us know whaere she was and what had happened. Immediatley, she was removed from their care and sent to Marshfield. How irresponsible can they be? HOw ever I do like their baby ward. Most of my family was born there, and we plan to have our children there also. Cant say any thing wrong about the OB

When a resident from the nursing home is taken to the hospital it is the responsibility of the charge nurse on that wing to call the family and tell them the resident is being taken to the hospital……therefore the hospital more than likely thought that her family was contacted already and that is why they didn’t make the calls…….once it had been a number of hours without her family checking on here they probably figured they better call the family and make sure they were aware of their loved one being in the hospital……..if u want to place blame u need to point the finger at the charge nurse that was on that night at the nursing home…….
