The old Langlade Laundry owned at one time by Tom & Judy Bauknecht looks awful. If they are not going to raze it or rent/sell it, can’t they at least get those rags off every window & replace them with something bright & cheery? I think of a sweat shop everytime I see that place.

Just for the record, those cats were not his personal pets. They were true feral cats he fed because he was a nice & caring man. Of course they hung around to get fed! And we have implemented in Antigo for 9 months now, a Trap Neuter Release programs. Where you borrow a live trap)s) from The Antigo Vets office, set it for the wild cat & bring him/her in when we have free spay day. It’s once a month usually & always on a Sunday,as that is the only day they are closed. Dr Sarah volunteers her clinic as a place to do the surgeries & we are known as the Antigo Area Advocates for Animals or Quad A (4 A’s) for short. Dr. Dan also donates his time,as do vets who come from other cities when needed. We have a great group of volunteers, who do this all because of their love & respect for life. I’ve frequented that neighbourhood for over a decade. I’ve watched as “cat mans” house has deteriorated eventually causing him to move into the garage! Which is easily becoming just as dilapidated as the house. he has serious mental health issues and cannot be counted on to make good judgments for his property or home. As for it being a squalor and risk to public saftey. Absolutely. Try leaving some junk in your front yard and the city will have no problem slapping you with a fine and requiring you to build a “junk yard fence”. The city needs to step up on this case. There must be something they can do for the well-being of this poor sick man and well-being of the neighbourhood. Its a prime example of how Antigo steps over its problems and does nothing to fix it. Its easier to complain than to help. And this man needs serious help.

I personally know the person who lives behind them and they had to put up a fence because they got tired of looking at an old toilet every time she looked out the back window….. lets hope he wasn’t using it! Face it, there are some crap holes out there… not including the old toilet, and this is one of them.

How about the hole on E 1oth Ave next to Novy’s place? I think that the guy is some kind of carpenter, but it looks like he needs to fix his own humble abode. It also looks like all of the crap that should end up in a dumpster ends up there.

I feel fro the neighbors around there as well, as they keep nice places.

I have actually picked up 2 of those ‘Ferral Cats’ from a friend of mine and now they have good homes. 1 with my parents and the other with myself. Both are fixed and declawed as well.

However, if you’re so concerned about this house-why not speak to the owner about it. Perhaps they can not afford to fix it, or aren’t in the best help to get it done. Maybe you can help them to get things taken care of so you won’t have to look at it any more.

the house has been torn down and now someone bought the property, hope they do something good with it its a nice neighborhood and since they are fixing up some other houses that will make it better
