As reported in the Wausau Daily Herald, there seems to be some
issues involving a few Antigo residents in the race for the GOP
nomination to challenge U.S. Rep. Dave Obey.
Mentioned in the story, are Sean Duffy, Dan Mielke, Pete
Pospichal, and Mike Monson.

Personalities, and personal attacks, are what drives contemporary politics. If politicians were evaluated and judged by their rationality, ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, and coherence of expression, as they should be, none of these characters would rise to the top of public awareness. Of course, that’s not all bad — if that’s how things worked, we never would have heard of Sarah Palin.
I must say, if I were running for Congress, I would certainly not associate myself with Mike Monson. Doesn’t everyone know about the CCAP website? http://wcca.wicourts.gov/index.xsl It seems like Sean Duffy has some seriously poor judgement to be involved with someone like this. I’m voting for Dan Mielke!
Bear in mind Mark Twain’s comment on the topic: “Suppose you were a complete idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But… I repeat myself.”
It’s important to consider the idiocy of the candidates. You don’t want one who is too much of an idiot, and can’t get anything done. And you don’t want one who is not enough of an idiot to work within the political process in Washington. It seems to me that David Obey has just the right amount of idiocy for the job.
why should he pay his taxes, don’t you know he is Michael Monson?
How is it that he is still free to even walk around? I know I could not “get away” with the stuff he has. I wouldn’t even want to.
Suppose you were a complete idiot, and further suppose you were an elected municipal offical. But…. I repeat myself.
Good point … again.
Albus, I find most of your postings to be sensationalized rhetoric; but, that quote is funny every time I read it.
Credit where credit’s due — that quote is a modified paraphrase from my favorite author and social philosopher, Mark Twain, used with his permission.
Oh, you meant the ORIGINAL quote! Never mind…..
