soon be operating again with new owners and a new name, Night
Moves.
The owners of the current Petticoat Junction Bar in downtown
Antigo will be opening up “Night Moves” which is to be:
Sports Bar without sports fanaticals
Supper Club food without Supper Club Prices
Dance Club beats on the Weekends nights
Many drink specials &
Karaoke on Thursdays
Petticoat Junction will be closing Saturday, Nov. 7th.
Night Moves is set to open Wednesday, November 11th at 2pm

Oh Albus, I agree if this DM is a PI then why wouldn’t he offer up services to help find Kayla Berg or even find out who the person was that killed Kathy Nameth. These are very important cases and would be great if someone could solve them. Peace of mind for the families and friends of these women.

Don’t know if I could help much with your multi-generational social dirt research, Damar. My family roots in this area only go back to the early 1800′s. Of course, you could count another 10,000 years or so if you add in the Chippewa DNA contribution of a great-great-great-grandmother, but I’m sure you’ve already been in touch with her spirit, so what more could I add?
One thing that might help your research would be if you could possibly get counseling to clean up your gutter-speak and develop some respect for the inherent humanity of your research “subjects”. It makes interviewing easier and more productive. They’ll probably tell you that at your writer’s conference if you bring along a copy of this blog to share. Let us know what they all think of your style and technique, won’t you? Just don’t feel compelled to hurry back. Or come back at all.
By the way, Damar, the conference at Hotel Santa Fe is not until June 11. It just can’t take you a month to find the place. Just get yourself a good GPS system. Some good tips in that one, including stuff you really should have learned before you started posting here.

New to town – first time poster. I heard there was this site that kept the town informed of local news and events. What I didn’t hear was that it was apparently just a forum for picking victims and then attacking them. I moved here because it looked like a neat town with obvious potential for future growth. The few people who I interacted with were very friendly and helpful and I found a great home in a quiet neighborhood.
Now, apparently all that was just a ruse.
This post started with information about a resident opening a business, one apparently with a family including small children. Regardless of the resident’s criminal history, lets keep in mind that there are children that have to co-exist in the same town, attending school and interacting with other children. Now, knowing how rumor works in a small town, doesn’t that have the potential to damage possible relationships with other school children? Birthday parties, social events. I have seen wonderful, smart and well-behaved children crushed by never being exposed to important developmental social interactions. Is this occurring in this family?
Everyone is so concerned with past, how about present? If there are children in the house (from what I understand there are and not infants either) and they were in danger,why would they still remain there? Or is it all just speculation? Wouldn’t there be age restrictions on who would be allowed in or around the house, or even the location of the home? If the answer to all of those is “no” and there has never been evidence or signs of mistreatment (and as a past victim ~ reason for relocation here, there are signs and real obvious, too) then perhaps it should be left be. If he truely is a dispicable human, then simply don’t attend his functions. Don’t go to his home, don’t go to his tavern, don’t talk to him. He still has a family and his children need to eat.
If he were not paying any bills, then how would there be a liquor license? You have to have clear credit history with distributors in order to get one, I checked with 3 different townships. They also don’t give them to anyone who has problems with law enforcement in any areas, so if there were legal issues (repetitive police contact, noise complaints, etc) they are rejected. Basically anything that could be damaging to the area, especially financially. Since that rejection obviously hasn’t happened, maybe he has good standing with them also. In fact according to the Antigo Police department and LANGLADE Sheriff’s Department other than some issue with drugs on the premises a couple years ago, he has always cooperated with the law and is in good standing, so that is unfounded. Now I found out this information with a couple calls regarding each item.
What this looks like is a handful of people with too much time on their hands. Is it at all possible that a person can grow up and become a completely different person? Yes. Since their have been no recent transgressions regarding minors, I have to believe that (especially with someone with a record who is so obviously in an area ready to crucify) that they haven’t occurred since. Again, being one who has committed a crime he would certainly be unable to get away with it on the second try since the first was unsuccessful in not getting caught. Am I right? He wasn’t bright enough before, probably still not bright.
So all this being said, I will wait for the opening of the new place (which is when again?) and go meet this monster for myself. Again I have just endured violent relationship and will recognize the type. If he is still a creep, I will certainly warn as many as possible on my way out of town. In the meantime, I won’t be attempting to form any lasting bonds here.
By the way, a note to ALBUS, as mediator of this forum, should you be posting email addresses to the posters here, that are posting under the guise that it won’t be given out? If we know anyone, we should get to know everyone’s in all fairness. No matter how big a douche anyone behaves, fair is fair.

“Quiet bystander”, I’m not a moderator. I’m just what you might call a “frequent poster”. Any “moderating” influence I might have is due to a personal preference for injecting reason, an occasionally humor, into discussions, even when they are otherwise driven entirely by fear, greed, and other base emotions.
I have no access to any email addresses (or any other internal information) on this site. I understand they are required for posting, to allow for site and participation management. The address for Damar that appeared in one of my postings was published by him, himself, in another forum, and was not obtained from any source connected with this site. It was found with a simple web search, and was intended to demonstrate to Damar that his boast of being a master of search engine secrets was a bit over-stated. I have a congenital inability to refrain from puncturing blowhards.

However, I do think it’s time to move on to other matters, and would not mind having this topic locked against further discussion so I don’t have to follow the antics of its participants any longer….
