The owners of the current Petticoat Junction Bar in downtown
Antigo will be opening up “Night Moves” which is to be:
Sports Bar without sports fanaticals
Supper Club food without Supper Club Prices
Dance Club beats on the Weekends nights
Many drink specials &
Karaoke on Thursdays
Petticoat Junction will be closing Saturday, Nov. 7th.
Night Moves is set to open Wednesday, November 11th at 2pm

Well I’m going to go along and agree with darwin by letting you people continue talking amongst your inbred selves but before I do that I have a few things I would like to say. For you wicked storm you have some nerve to start out saying lay off the Steckbauers and that the Duncans are as bad as Darwin this really shows that you have absolutelty no commom sense and are completely ignorant. From what I know of the Duncans they all work and are tax paying citizens unlike the majority of the Steckbauers that I have seen numerous times in the newspaper for theft not to mention many many other crimes. I’m not saying people can’t change for the better but as all this has continued on bashing Darwin for his past crimes than we might as well do that to everyone.
As for not stupid I wouldn’t doubt if it is the antigo hospital you work at and that has to be the most ridiculous hospital I have ever seen I would not let my dogs be treated there since it’s full of backwoods inbred rednecks like the majority of you on here. So maybe you people at that hospital only treat your fellow inbreds good. At least you get one good thing out of that if you get divorced from your husband at least you guys will still be cousins or maybe even brother and sister. That comment wasnt just for you not stupid it fits probab;y for most of you.
The last thing is for you guys to keep saying dar rapes little kids are totally wrong and whoever made the stupid comment about well he lost custody of his daughter that should say something you need to get your facts straight about that as well if anyine knows Kelli Randl that should explain it all and if Dar really molested his own kid do you think Kellis own brother would stick up for Dar and quit talking to his entire family over the ordeal if Kelli’s accusations had any merit behind them. Her brother knew it was all lies so that’s why he quit talking to his entire family. i guess ive been to busy to comment and thought id see what would fester asbout this jack*ss on here and WOW. . . It is the right of the community to speak there mind the same as it is Dumb*ss darwins right to be able to walk into a bar (which is wrong) but who are we… Well let me comment on the yes fact that i was mistaken by the fact that it is probably not the city which whom gave the license but the township and it is great that sheila can be in business for 6 yrs. and be doing so great but lets look at the facts when you were on 52 your buisness was just as disgusting as it was on 5th ave and will continue to be on 45 now. My husband an avide bike rider and a group of friends decided to take the ungodly plunge like others im sure and stop on 52 at the bar you had out there and get a drink and when they did he said he was better off pissing outside than using the bathroom and when they ordered a drink (not out of a cup thankfully) there was a nasty puck looking something on the top of the can and the bartender just gave it to them that way, didnt even bother to clean it off or offer a new can that is very disturbing to me and so not sanitary. Lets talk about the fact that you were kicked out of the old now or later building and you destroyed the building and not only left it a shambles but took everything with you mirrors, glasses and pics off the walls what kind of up standing good and honest bar owner and employees do that? the only business you had were the people that could walk over form the hotel kiddie corner form you and the antigo hotel, as soon as your crappy hour was over majority of your business walked out the door. How sad that your businesss thrives off of people who need to spend there income on themselves and personal needs like food and clothing, but instead they come to our bar hoping to get that .50 cents off a beer or whatever you charge and you call that a good honest business? im well aware that they would go else where and do but that is your business and i just cant believe that you think that is a good one. Wow, I have been following this thread, and had to comment after the last comment by notsurprised…(Darwin). Come on, why do even add more fuel to this fire? Pointing fingers at others (others who do not molest children) will not make Night Moves any more sussessful, or make you/Darwin, any more able to look yourself in the mirrior. Darwin reminds me of the child who gets picked on, so they look for the smallest child to retaliate on (no pun intended). If even a fraction of the stuff on here is true, I wouldn’t let my dog walk within 10 feet of Night Moves. These are just the objective “opinions” of a neutral onlooker.

Well well well… I don’t even know precisely where to begin. The close-minded holier than thou community of Antigo so adamant about their selflessness and tolerance and relations to Jesus and how they yet again judge profoundly the circumstances of another human being whose story they know little to nothing about? How about the abject hostility perpetuated behind these cozy little computer screens that so many of you treat like safety vests for your words? Personally, the community here disgusts me far more often than not and I do not include Darwin in this mess at all. I’ve traveled quite a fair piece of the continental US and have known quite a few people on all sides of the law, holding the badge, wearing cammies and even some wearing bold prison orange jumpsuits. I know one thing that so many of the people in Antigo either do not or choose to ignore. People make mistakes and that does not make them evil for I have yet to know a person who has not made a mistake and I know enough people to know most of you have done something vile and or unlawful, and even more have had thoughts of desire towards doing something along those lines. You hypocritical twits who talk strong and bold and insinuate violence and disdain have no more honor or worth than those people that I am sworn to defend my country from. I have been to all of the bars in this town at one point or another for the most part. I go to night moves because I enjoy the crowd of relaxed people out there mature enough to discuss nearly any topic. People of all age groups and from all walks of life who don’t walk around ready to pummel each other for their differences but are just out to have a few drinks and a good time. The bartenders have wicked personalities and contrary to earlier mention, the glasses, utensils, plates, and everything else have always been very clean. I know because being a military man, I check what I eat from and drink from well. I expect quality and that’s what I get. I’ve spoken to people on all sides of this situation. I went to Now or Later when it existed and THAT was a rats nest of underage kids, drugs, poor building standards (the structure and layout was trashed long before anyone else came in) as well as terrible bartenders. As far someone being passed out on the floor? At a bar? Someone who drank too much? Nick’s? Animals? Smittys? Any bar in America? It’s not the bar but the individual and it happens at ‘em all. Rape? Yeah, not be dry about it, but she could have been addressing any drunken customer and it wouldn’t be the first time a woman used that as a weapon of retaliation rather than what it was intended for. Get your facts, look into the background. WCCA doesn’t say what people have stated by the way. But most importantly, stop being hypocrites. Judge not lest ye be judged. And if you must judge, but yourself on the same scale. Remember, good deeds do not displace or erase bad ones, for they are measured on separate scales. If this place is so great…why is it dead every night of the week? the most cars I have seen there since it has been open is 4 cars. And I drive by almost on a daily basis going to work and back. Theres a reason why the place isn’t happening.
the parking lots been packed so full the area across the street has been used to almost full cap. you shouldn’t call yourself people, it’s an insinuation that others must all share your pov, which is not only improbable, but quite impossible by human nature. it’s not dead every night and usually picks up later in the evening as it’s farther out and not “bar hopping” material just because you can’t really walk to it. however, on nights when it IS quiet, it’s usually because of miscreants like yourself who judge a book based on what everyone else says rather than forming an opinion based on your own open minded experiences. it’s sad really. it’s quite literally a literal description of the one thing plaguing this society that can drain us of all hope for a future that’s better than this scummy present day. people need to stop worrying about every other damned person and decide to make their own opinions, their own decisions, and LIVE. do not live through others, but do so vicariously. i’ve had bullets fly inches from my head, i’ve sang in a tightly packed bar in new orleans and danced in some of their hottest clubs, and i’ve walked in the dark alley ways on the french quarter side streets at 2AM hoping for a fight no matter how dangerous. I live my life the way i choose because i don’t let others tell me whether i’m right or wrong because, right or wrong, it’s my decision to make and my life to live it. Unfortunately…I know first hand the kind of people that run it and I am not just another person who judges a book by its cover…one of my good friends was one of those that got slipped the date rape drug at the old petticoat on Hwy 52…!!! Unfortunately, there was no witness to prove Darwin did it, but all that were there that knew it had come from him or 1 of his bartenders. And I don’t know what world you live in, but I guess in yours the parking lot is full!!! I have yet to see it full at anytime of the day or any day of the week. I agree with everyone on here that sees these people for the way they are dont’ don’t trust them. Theres a reason they can pay their $3000 a month or whatever it is payment and it isn’t because they have a awesome business that is doing so well. The people in this town can put 2 and 2 together.
lets not even mention the fine folks that used to go into Petticoat when it was on 5th Ave really?? come on. Some of Antigos finest went in there. The kind of people you worry about what they are going to do if you turn your back. I was there 1 time and I never went back, just to see if what all people said was the truth and it was the truth…dirty, scary people, and felt like I had to watch my back. I had a soda and left. along with the people that were with me.
I drove by on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m and counted 4 cars in parking lot! Just wanted to to let you know since you wondered when I am driving by and not seeing it packed. Oh, yeah and the bar across the street is always packed I find it hard to believe that night moves needed Not Bobs parking lot. Very unlikey.
My wife and I grew up I Antigo. Every time we go back to visit our families we are glad that we now live in Stevens Point. Now reading this story You have made me even more happy that my kids do not have to live and learn in Antigo. It is also nice not having to be caught up in everyones soap opera. Believe it or not it is nice being in a town that you don’t have to worry about who is doing what or where or talking behind your back. You people need to grow up and get along with your life!

I just wanna say that i went into night moves the other night and it was the most fun i had in a long time in a Antigo bar. Being from Arizona and coming here a lot of these bar are full of old nasty people. night moves had a real good DJ, nice dance floor, cold beers and, friendly people. I don’t care what people have to say about Darwin i just know that he has watched out for me when i go in there. that all i wanna say

Yes I am young. Never had any problem with my drinks. I also follow the number one rule at bars WATCH YOUR DRINK. Anyone at any bar can slip you something. People have you ever gone into the bar everytime i go it is packed. You do know that people call pool to bars right. you may see 4 cars there but each car may have 4 people in it.

I like “Lifes Better” do not live in the Antigo area, I grew up there and am thankful I am no longer there. I check up on these blogs for similar reasons. I still have family there and find knowing what is going on around them interesting if not a conversation starter. The drama that goes around in that area is far more then one with sound mind can fathom. I find it interesting that “people” seems so repulsed at this Darwin guy and his establishments however, is so fascinated that they note the popularity of these businesses and make sure they keep up with the goings on there. I myself would think. if I felt that way I would keep my distance and turn my back on their business and not look back. Furthermore, if I had an idea of the way this Darwin behaved I would be sure my “friends and family” knew to stay as far away from them as possible. So on that note, for curiosities sake, my next visit to the area I will be sure to include a stop at this establishment to see for myself what “people” feels is so terrible. After the said visit I will post my findings.

Boy that really sounds like slander to me. Got any proof to back it up? I’ll tell ya, i go to this bar at least once a week and last Thursday night I saw 2 elderly ladies tat I know there checking out the place. These ladies are well known around town and fine upstanding ladies. They weren’t afraid to be in there or afraid that their drinks were being spiked. I was watching the interaction with them and Darin. and also the other bartender. They looked like they were having a very god time. They were checking out the menus, asking questions about the food, how it’s prepared, specials. etc. They were quite pleased with the service and they were treated quite well by the staff and the patrons as well. I have known these ladies for a long time and they have gone into Nicks, Smittys, Reifs, and many other bars in this town. They are treated well in any place they go by bartenders and patrons alike. If they don’t like something about the place, believe me they will let everyone know. So just an observation from someone who actually goes to this establishment every week with no qualms about getting her drinks spiked or worrying about supposedly getting dragged out after being drugged.

Recently had the “opportunity” to return to do a little hired PI work for the local gov., needing some outside unknown for a little street research. Yea, NOW, that was ME following you around for those few months. Never even caught me, did you ! I know who your suppliers are, who your customers are, and even who is taking stuff out of your pawn shop, and claiming break-ins. All of you, stay right there, in the craphole you have created for yourselves. Don’t escape to infect another place with the poison in your empty, ignorant mentalities. You’re nothing more relevant than bunch of inbred disease carriers. Anti-Go would be a perfect place to do a research study on young people with nothing to live for, and no reason to understand just how ignorant they are. Your “teachers” have failed you. You are all due refunds on all the money wasted. However, many of you probably didn’t finish school, because, you’re correct… There was “nothing there, for you”. Only persons who can pass an intelligence test should be allowed out of places like Anti-Go. Only the knowledgeable should be allowed interaction with decent humanity. Remain in the prison you have created for your unimportant selves. What a bunch of idiots !

I’ve been around the world, too. Travel typically broadens one’s view, provides insight into cultural constraints and possibilities, and expands one’s appreciation for the diversity of mankind and regional methods for dealing with daily life. It would appear that you may still need a bit more travel to gain full benefit from the experience. Please don’t let us delay the continuation of your journey. Bon voyage!
Well, this blog can come to an end…Darwin has been evicted and Night Moves is closed.
I was wondering what the deal was – drove by last night and tonight and the place was closed. Boy, that didn’t take long at all!
They did close down, but I don’t think they were evicted. Trust someone who knows….the landlord was a little hard to deal with.
