To whom it may concern…..
I was just wondering when it became a one man band in the Antigo area……this person I am referring to has decided to make the decisions for other people’s property…like what a person does on his property…who can go on this persons property and so on……
Also, this particular person has decided when and how long it will take to finish road construction.
Okay….Mr. Del Nicholson has had secret board meetings and secret county meetings with zoning to regulate how one farmer in the area uses his own land.
Del owns and operates the Fuddfest….and he has continually harassed a farmer because this farmer chooses to use some of his land as “free” parking. Now….right down the road Del has parking for a fee…and granted it supposedly goes toward the town of Peck firemen but I have yet to see any changes from that money. So….Del does not want this farmer to allow free parking so he goes and uses his pull to get this farmer to have to pay a $5,000.00 fine PER CAR that is parked on his own land. Then…Del goes to the zoning board and this farmer has to install a septic system in this field???? and lighting…..? What does he need septic for? So the cars can pee at will?
To top it off…..the parking Del has and charges for……does not have a septic system..so what makes him so incredibly special that he can get away with it. How totally discriminating for the farmer because he is the only one who got the “new” ordinance. Then Dell goes to the road construction crew that is redoing the first part of highway C and tells them that he demands that the construction be finished before Fuddfest…….???/ Are you kidding me??? Who is he Del Nicholson to tell someone what they can and can not do with there land…or to tell road crews when they WILL be finished with something.????
Poor Del will lose money if the farmer has free parking…….like the Fuddfest does not make enough……

This is no way to build community cohesion, seems to me. Do we have any board member names, any meeting dates and participants, the published order or ordinance in question? Anything to raise the issue about the level of “gossip and gripe”? Would the farmer in question show any documents? The ADJ’s crack investigative reporting team should be right on this one!
Maybe if this farmer wants to provide free parking then he can hep pay for the big name bands as well. Seriously if u cant afford to park then dont go. Probably the same people u see sneaking around the fence to get in.

Maybe he belongs to the Bilderberg Group (you know… top secret meetings and such), is part of the New World Order (getting the grounds ready to take all the Americans who don’t cooperate with big government into quarantine), or maybe… small hunch…
He’s running a business.
It’s easy to point fingers and huff about people who are trying to promote a business. If it were me, I’d be worried about the road construction too. It’s large concert (I’ve heard… never been there) and it could get ugly with people getting lost with detours or waiting for the construction crew to open up a lane. There’s no waysides in Deerbrook, so what happens if you have the runs and you’re lost in a detour, or stuck in traffic. You’d have to drop your britches on the side of the road. Who’s going to clean up that mess? Ugly.
I suspect there is more to the story than this.
The problem seems like one that a lot of people have here, minding their own business. Also, money talks in this town. If you place the proper phallus in the proper opening, you can dictate who does what with their own property as long as you are greasing palms at the same time. If people here spent more time in their own lives dealing with their own issues, this site might actually be used to support local business and promote all the good that happens here (although the negative often outweighs the good). This town needs a giant enema.
The truth is I have been at all those secret meetings the farmer claims goes on. Funny that all the neighbors surrounding the Fuddfest grounds get notice of these so called secret meetings and where was the farmer “not there” The fire dept does get money for parking and they are a dedicated group who deserves this and the farmer wants to take this from them. They use the money for equipment like turn out gear at $800. to $1000 each, Radio’s, Pagers, so on and so on. The farmer said that they wanted him to put in a septic system, There are such things as portable toilets Fuddfest has them. Maybe he should put in septic system then he can go there and piss and moan instead of on this site
All summer we’ve enjoyed great entertainment with the Music in the Park series. Recently, the Kids from WI performed two sold out shows in Antigo, and in a few weeks major Nashville entertainment will perform at the Fuddfest grounds. Years ago we had to travel to Green Bay or Milwaukee to see ‘name’ entertainment. Rather than criticize the movers and shakers who make things happen, I think they need to be applauded. Mr Nicholson has invested thousands of dollars in buildings and grounds improvements, many that were required by the state to put on such an event. Country music fans come from all over the midwest, spending dollars in local motels, grocery stores, gas stations, bars, restaurants, etc. Other service providers have benefited from the extra income the festival generates for their businesses. Local clubs (Antigo Girls hockey, Antigo Wrestling club, Kippenberg Creek Kids wish organization) have benefited by being allowed to operate concessions at the festival, generating income for their organizations.
If and when Mr Nicholson makes money from the festival, he will pay additional federal and state taxes that will help pay for the roads and bridges we all use, even the ones that lead to the festival grounds. Entrepreneurs are the backbone of the American economy. I salute him for his efforts and wish him and his family the best in fulfilling their part of the American dream.
So just to get this straight, the whole issue here is that this farmer , family and his friends are pissed because they can,t go to fuddfest and park and camp for free? Figures with that family

The farmer and the neighbors can join together all they want but still wont give to the community what Del does from his event he holds… All in all I salute Dell and all who provides a great, fun, family event for our community without all the travel to the bug city where we all know everything costs more and you get less. One last thing, the farmer and his wagon, i hope their tires go flat, so they can waste all their hot air on blowing them back up instead of wasting it on this kind of thing…!!! Well here is the scoop….I know for a fact that Dell, his family and friends put their blood and sweat into this event all year long!!!! I am willing to bet that “this farmer” has all intentions to make a quick buck. He did not have any plans for “free parking”. Who is going to cover the people and their cars when something happens? Does he have insurance? Dell has several hoops that he has to jump through and he also pay a pretty penny to have insurance for this event. Why would this farmer want to take money away from Peck fire Department. The Department that supplies a safe place for them to live and a department that uses that money for training not only for fire but to keep their emergency medical personal trained.
I agree with all the peoples blogs that support the Fuddfest. Stop and think about the money that comes to this county because of this event and look at what will be taken away because one “farmer”.

If you offer a free service to people on your own property,, is there something wrong with that? I believe that a person should be able to do what they want on their own property!!! if they want people to park or camp there, whats the big deal its their property to do as they wish with….its nobody’s business!!! Seems to me that some people are just money hungry and want to make sure they take people for every dime they have!!! Fuddfest already charges for the tickets/passes whatever…the camping…the alcohol on grands in pavillion, parking in grounds…why should a person have to pay for parking if they know someone who will let them park at their place or their land for free. You pay and arm and a leg to go the fuddfest for 4-5 days.
One other thing is lost in this is the free shuttle bus that is provided from the parking area. So what happens when one of these people get hit by a car walking down the road from their free parking? Then what? safety is also an issue with this
A percentage of people that got free parking, would definately spend more on the venders there,,, and the way it sounds,, cry baby ED STEGER his wife and others seem to be worrying about that. So if they would think about it, it would make some sense to these idiots.
I think there should be some new ordinances created by Langlade County, charging the cry babies for the use of their own water,,, or that they have to buy a license to plant their garden or mow their lawn. Pros…the Fuddfest does bring in a lot of people which helps the community…….they do have some good bands…..
Cons….Dell has for years harrassed the farmer about free parking…..the farmer did not come up with that on his own…..many people from out of town…and in the community asked to park on his feild…..famer says “sure”. then Dell regulates who can and can not walk on the PUBLIC road for safety. I gt the safety issue…and I get that he does not want anyone hurt….kudos to you Dell…but people are constantly walking from the north camp ground to the main grounds all the time…not to mention they even walk behind another land owners property…where bear were sighted……
Now…the farmer uses HIS own money to painstakingly make a path and have it graveled so people do not get hurt on stumps and walking through woodsy areas…he even got solar lights to lead the pathway…..
he cut the path all the way to be directly in front of the maingrounds…..so if people can not look both ways to cross the street…then they are just stupid……
Maybe sme people want topark free because they do not want to pay the high cost of parking for a “donation”‘ they do not agree with.

I had some people ask me (more lately than ever) about EMS at the Fuddfest and how it is covered, So I came to this site read all the blogs and I am still laughing. Any way this is how we cover this event
We have between 50-60 dedicated EMS personell, from 1st responders ,EMT,EMT-IV tech, EMT-I paremedic, RN’s and Doctors work shifts 24-7 starting on Wen. thru Sun. We cover the Fuddfest main grounds, the Great Northern camp sites and the north parking. These are the 3 areas we cover. The town of Peck EMS covers all the rest off grounds as this is thier area. The only way the Fuddfest EMS can go off grounds to work on any individual is if Town of Peck EMS request mutual aid.

Sc rew him at least the fire department uses the money that they work for is used to put any disaster out! I have been reading this blog since I heard about it. It really disgusts me that people can be so hurtful and ignorant.
The truth is Mr. Schreiber is pissed off because things didn’t go his way. There were no secret meetings. If you used your brain and not your temper you would know taxpayers are responsible to what ordinances are out there. Yes, I agree it sure would be nice to do whatever we wanted with our land. But there has to be some kind of governing or we would have toxic waste dumped or garbage everywhere polluting the environment. Things would be unsafe.
The real issue here is that the County Government has been watching the amount of cars or campers parked on Mr. Schreibers land. Last year there was quite a few. The County has ordinances for this. They need to be followed. The reason people were walking on the road is to go the ‘free’ parking on the Schreiber land. This is a danger at dark. Mr. Schreiber will say that there is people on the road all the time. Early in the morning after dawn, people walk for exercise, walk their dogs etc.
I have gone to many festivals and this is what people do. In the early morning is not the problem it is the nighttime. I believe Fuddfest has shuttle service that runs till after 3am. After that time, hired security give rides to the fuddfest parking. Yes, you can’t tell people what to do, there still may be those ones that walk,but very few.
I know Mr. Nicholson and Mr. Schreiber and I think whoever started this blog was doing it out of anger and was venting what he was thinking but definately was not speaking the whole truth.

Hope for fudders is right! I think that if we all just stop and grow up things will work out. Some of these posts are wrong and some of it is slander not only is it wrong but it is illegal. I know Dell and his whole family and they are GREAT people. (they would all give you the shirts off of their back even if it was their last one) When eveything works out everyone will look like fools and wish they would have kept their comments to themsleves. But I do have to say because of the Fuddfest it helps our community and we have people from all over visiting us. Why dont we give them some northern Wisconsin pride. I also know that there are a lot of people involved in this event (more than you can even imagine) and this event is a 24-7, 365 days a year job.

It’s like any business that sells things, some of them have signs posted that say no carry ins allowed. That’s because if people carried things in, the business wouldn’t make any money on whatever they sell. Well in this case if people parked their cars for free, no one would make any money from charging to park a car.

I have not seen Ron sell anything to the people who use his land for Dels prosper, or even try to get money from anyone for the use of his land….Ron has FREE parknig on HIS land……so people can go to Dels business and spend money for Del. So what is the big deal…..Ron’s land…..Ron’s generousity……and yet he is the bad guy?
