Jimmy’s Pizza, located at 209 Highway 64, in Antigo, has closed. Apparently they did not get enough business to keep it afloat. Rumor has it that the rent for the building was just too high.
It is sad to see another Antigo business close its doors.
..

That sucks. We loved it there and gave them plenty of business. The owners were always very friendly and accomodating. Plus, we have a bunch of unused Jimmy’s coupons.
Yes it really is too bad. But when you have 85% of Antigo on unemployment what do ya do? The extra money just isn’t there.
Sad but true; we are in that boat too and wouldn’t have been eating much in the future anyhow
That is too bad. Did give them our buisness. Liked it better than Bucks. Also did not know Antigo has 85% unemployment.Amazing!
Really sad! The pizza was very good there and so was everything else we tried. I would have given them more business if they’d only delivered to our house.
Yes it is sad.. I think it was the $10.00 pizza specials that killed them. They probably weren’t making that much money offering $10.00 pizzas in the first place.. When they went full price a month or two ago, they couldn’t compete with Pizza Hut which were still offering $10.00 pizzas.
Its sad to see them go but people aren’t going to pay $16 to $18 for a large speciality pizza when Pizza Hut is doing it for $10.00.. BB Jacks and Bucks were’t far behind in price.
They also had a strange phone number (350-4444).. That number was long distance for people who lived just outside the city limits. Its long distance for me to call them… Why should I pay another 30 cents in long distance to order?
That really is too bad. It sucks having to go up against corporate in anything when you are a local business.
Oh, and (350-) phone numbers are from Verizon right here in Antigo, It shouldn’t have been long distance, so that’s weird.
We went to Jimmy’s once a week….for lunch……I am sad to see them gone……I will miss Jimmy’s.
We ordered a Pizza Hut pizza….and I got sick…..literally…..and they do not have the same quality pizza they used to…..I will not go to Pizza Hut again. JIMMY”S COME BACK……….please.
Jimmys was OK.. 350 shows up on the prefix lookup as Alltell. It is an exhange leased to VOIP providers like Skype, and Vonage. It is long distance for people outside of 627- and 623-.
350- is long distance for people in Summit Lake, Post Lake, Pearson, Pickeral, Mattoon.
cool.. I just called a couple of 715-350 numbers and it finally worked.. I’ve been fighting with the phone company here for years to open up that exchange.. Now I can finally dump the phone company and go with Vonage.. LOL
Glad to hear it SimpleMind. Must have been just trouble with AllTel being bought out by Verizon here. Nice to know there is another choice for phone service here. Especially with Verizon land lines being bought out by someone else now (service has gone from worse to non-existant)
I heard today that KC Bagels is closing. Can anyone confirm this?
They need a Pollito’s Pizza in town. Wausau has one outside of the mall on 3rd street and they have excellent pizza, way better than Pizza Hut and then some.
Yes KC Bagels is closing this weekend…..sorry to see Kathy close but she wants more time for family which is understandable.
I couldn’t understand why Jimmy’s Pizza opened to begin with. Antigo is already a pizza-heavy market (relative to its size and overall income level.) Pizza Hut alone would discourage me from opening a pizza place right in town, doing so despite the presence of Pizza Hut -and- Buck’s seems like a really bad idea. Consider that they were in a building with high rent and low viability and the whole thing is sheer madness.
And on top of all that … BB Jacks. ‘Nuff said.
