This is beyond horrible. There is obviously some kind of freak loose in our area. These poor girls. I cannot even imagine what their families are going through. Especially at Christmastime. My hearts aches for all of them. Please everyone, look closely everywhere you go.
These three cases are completely different in every way, to assume that there is a serial abductor in our area is idiotic. Good way to start an unnecessary panic among parents, though!!!
she wasn’t abducted either! SHE RAN AWAY WHEN SHE DIDNT LIKE THE FACTS OF LIFE.
What a little brat. She needs a reality check. Kids these days. Hopefully, she doesn’t continue the cycle of being a arrogant little snot. You work hard for what you want and you shall receive. Not run away because you are confronted with rules. Christina if you are reading this you should be ashamed of yourself.
I’m glad she’s okay. I hope now they can work on the problems that made her run away in the first place.
Still holding onto hope that the other two girls are found, safe & sound.
Moi: Is it necessary to call a 16 year old child names? She still is just a child and your behavior is very immature. So grow Up!!
Thank god she is safe and our prayers have been answered. Obrien addressed my thoughts exactly. I as well hope that with her returning back to her family here that they can all work together on resolving the issues that made her run away in the first place.
To those of you that left negative comments about Christina and resorting to the elementary level of calling her names? Sounds like you need the reality check! Your postings sound as though you wanted her to be abducted or worse, in order to justify her actions. You should be relieved that she was found safe and unharmed. How can you know why she ran way before the police do? I’m not condoning her actions but why she chose to run away is not any of our business, that is a personal family matter that needs to be resolved within the family.
My prayers go out to the two other missing girls and their families, especially during the holidays.
I am so very glad Christina was found safely. I am, however, wondering why she was reported missing Monday evening by her family and the Antigo Police Department FAILED to issue an alert for her until Friday. Considering Kayla and Stephanie have never been found don’t you think there should have been a little motivation to issue the alert sooner and possibly find her sooner, prior to her leaving Wisconsin? I realize APD chalked her off as a run-away, a troubled teen acting out (and Thank God that’s how it turned out …. I hope her and her family find common ground so this doesn’t happen again) but isn’t that what was said about Kayla and her family at first. How in the world could the APD just assume that letting 4 days of priceless time pass without actively doing something is exceptable reguardless of the family history? And how can Fred from the ADJ sleep at night knowing there is a missing child out there somewhere and he doesn’t even care enough to add her story to the back page for at least the first full week into her disappearance. The ADJ is supposed to report news to the public, yet they said nothing at all about this missing girl. Thank you Channel 7 and Channel 9 TV for at least mentioning her.
I guess because it turned to be family drama, the ADJ and the APD thinks this is exceptable…. I am here to tell you there are MANY people in our area that don’t find it exceptable at all. The “what if’s” of how this could have turned out are endless and it is scarey to believe we live in area where so little was done to find a missing child in trouble. Maybe if there would have been quicker reaction time in these other cases we wouldn’t still have two families wondering what happened to their missing loved ones. I seriously doubt “assuming” these girls ran off on their own has done anything but prolong their return. My heart goes out to their families.
I’m so happy this girl has been been found and is back home. She is certainly not the first child to run away and hopefully as others have said, this will open up the communication in her family. It’s tough to be a teenager, especially in today’s world. Best of luck to Christina. As for the other two young ladies who are still sadly missing, I will continue to watch for them. I also say, YES, some freak could very well be loose and I’m not taking an eye off my kids for a second. Should two missing girls from our small area create a panic? I hope so! Better safe than sorry!
Boy ,you should all be kind of leary about a town that does not seem to think a story like this is important enough to put in the paper.. makes me shiver, how about you??
I agree Carley, our local paper prints only what Fred deems is important, which is unfair to readers. They didn’t share news about Kayla’s disappearance at first either because they thought that she was a runaway, as if that should have mattered for any missing child who needed to be found.
I suggest everyone call and cancel your subscriptions and explain to ADJ that because they don’t feel a missing child is important enough to put in their paper, you don’t feel it’s important enough to have their paper any longer. It’s time everyone starts taking a stand against this BS instead of whining about it. One person alone can’t do it, we need everyone. United We Stand. God Bless America and God Help us all.
Great idea, James!!! Unfortunately, without a Shopper no longer in this town, the ADJ has a monopoly on the newspaper business.
Why do you need a newspaper? The new age is the internet for your news. I found out about this girl on the local tv news web site before it was even put in the ADJ. As for advertising, it cost way to much to advertise in either paper. Local places that do advertise should just send it directly to customers via post office or email, it would help the post office and maybe be cheaper. If you need something to read, grab a book. Maybe a bible or something useful to stimulate your mind. As far as ADJ being a newspaper, they would have to actually report news, not just report on day old news and their own private BS all the time.
Also glad she was found, but the Antigo PD did a lot of searching and worrying, very selfish of anyone to run away and scare others like that. However, to everyone that posted negative comments about her, and to the people that switched the focus of missing girls in our area to complaining about the ADJ and Fred: what’s the matter with you? Grow up. Make a new thread about your complaints with the ADJ, don’t use a missing teen thread to b*tch and complain about our local newspaper. And to preach about “reading a bible,” sounds to me like you should do just that. Kills me to see “religious’ people do hypocritical things like this, and then act as if their Gods great gift to this earth.
