    I keep reading all of this nonsense in the ADJ from jealous individuals that bash teachers and their salaries, but I don’t hear them whining about the salaries of bankers, car mechanics, insurance salesmen, doctors, lawyers, etc. etc. etc. Oh thats right, as tax payers, they pay my salary. B.S. Who pays their salaries? And who evaluates the work that they do?

    “WEAC proposes that teachers be judged not only by administrators, but also by a panel that includes peers. Those who are found lagging would be given three years to improve. If they don’t, they would be fired”.

    3 YEARS TO IMPROVE BEFORE THEY GET FIRED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Seriously? most employees get 30 days to improve before they get fired. The current public educational system is broken, outdated, protected and pampered by their powerful union, and needs to fixed. Per the article, quality teachers know it and even acknowledge the system is broken and needs to be fixed.

    Beside the teachering profession, who has tenure? Name one profession outside of teaching that an employee cannot be fired because they reached tenure. Tenure promotes poor performance because teachers know it doesn’t matter how good or how bad of a job they do, they can’t be fired.

    Get real.
