7 more charged with pot possession
I was somewhat confused after reading the front page bit in the Antigo Daily Journal today about 7 misdemeanor charges, it wasn’t real clear as to what that first paragraph was related to.
So, now 7 of the people who were named in that criminal complaint have been charged with misdemeanor possession of THC. I’m not seeing a couple names that were in the complaint, but, as you can see on the court site, the following people were charged:
Mark Incha
Jay Peterson
Chris Nicholson
Peter Miller
Robert Hurlbert
Anthony Crabb
Joseph Adams
I wonder what determines who is charged and who isn’t?

Sounds like they were charged. With “misdemeanour possession of THC”.
I dont understand how they can be charged with possession when the cops never caught them with it! Apparently they should of used their fifth amend ment! By the way i drove home drunk last night guess ill have to call the cops so they can give me a ticket!
theres probably some people working for the cops thats more than likely why all werent charged… Its just gonna get quieted down some more and then slid under the carpet like everything else is in this town. Half the cops on the force used to smoke pot and some of them even sold it. Im sure these charges are gonna some how get appealed and then there will be another mistrial and then theyll all get off of the charges and blame it on ralph for apparently doing something wrong in court… Its a joke just wait n see!!!!

You are correct and all at taxpayer expense. This town and county are one of the most culture biased areas in the U.S.! Don,t you think that if Greening had any sense, he would have confronted the men and said ” We know what you are doing, you have a day or so to stop what you are doing or else, go directly to jail, do not pass go”!!
I think what is the most funny was watching these guys critisize evryone for doing this yet they do it themselves. Now one of them is doing work in front of city gas building and more than likely a city funded project. just flippen great
Don’t you actually have to be caught with something to get charged with it? I jaywalked once when I was 12…better not tell the police, I’ll get a ticket!

@Stand United – this is the dumbest form of “proof” I have seen. No $hit you are more likely to crash a car when you are high then when you are SOBER. The article compares it to being SOBER. How much more likely are you to crash a car when you are drunk? And drinking is legal. Are you a drinker? Idiot.
@What the @ morons all. What Greening did was called the hearsay rule. Anything said can be admissable in court! Yes the accused should have enacted their 5th amendment rights. It might be too late for them to do this now. You both said things in your posts, now under hearsay you also can be arrested! What you might want to do, is go through all of the posts about Greening, Uttke and the Mayor, write the posts down. Do you know that the coroner can arrest the sheriff? As far as I know this power is still in effect. Go talk to Larry Shadick. If he won’t do it, go to a law officer in this county you can trust and have him do it. It’s time for all of this crap to stop. Maybe all three of them should have their resignation papers written!

I have to recind the power of a law officer. I don’t think they have the power to arrest the sheriff now that I thought about it. Shadick has to. If its no longer his duty then the county board actually broke the law by removing the power to arrest. There has to be an entity in power to do the action for this county!
How does one in good conscience criticize the gentleman arrested. From what I know of these folks, they were good citizens, except for enjoying god’s own herb. Yes it is illegal and so was interracial dating until the laws were changed in the sixties.
Most would agree that the laws prohibiting casual use of marijuana are antiquated. The reason so many of you know of this person or that person got high is because it is a cultural phenomenon that has not abated since it overwhelmed the culture (and sleepy Antigo many, many years ago) and the laws have not caught up with it.
Humans have craved and produced mind altering substances since the first cave man ate a peculiar mushroom in the neo-pleistecene–only they called it a spiritual experience and invented god.
I ask you, in all honesty, what harm did these people do from the comfort of their own homes to hurt you or your children. And horrors, maybe they were happier healthier folks for it (my guess).
I have worked as a teacher for 35 years. I have known the best of teachers and the worst of teachers, and I can tell you without a doubt that whether they smoked marijuana or not was completely irrelevant, completely.

If I am German and English and my wife is mostly German, and I interracial dating/married? Or worse yet am I stuck in a interracial date because of my mixed lineage, kinda like an interracial groundhog day?

@Really. the term interracial is a bit of a misnomer. The laws were to prevent people of black or Asian heritage dating or marrying whites. Had to protect the good stock you know. German and English have always been referred to as white, so not interracial according to the government. I am mixed heritage, slavic and celtic, but no one was concerned that my Irish grandmother married my Czech grandfather.
Today, interracial marriage or dating is of no concern to most outside of the segregated south and many rural communities. The term hay seed was often applied to my ancestors because of their farming background, but I can tell you they were far wiser and gave me a well-rounded view of the world.
