Freddie’s idea of marching band vs. Madonna
I simply find this article completely laughable. Mr. Berner has been in newspaper publishing like his whole entire life and he seems to think that a marching band would be better than Madonna for the Superbowl halftime show! Are you kidding me!? It’s all about entertainment and marketing. It’s no wonder so many people of Antigo make snide remarks about the Journal, for example, Antigo Daily Urin@l and I’ve also heard Antigo Daily Mistake, among a few.
C’mon Fred, get with the times man!

I agree with calling it the Antigo Daily Mistake. Simply because I’ve read quite a few local stories where they abruptly end the story in mid sentence because there’s not enough space or what not, leaving me looking for the rest of the article knowing that there’s more that should be there. I’ve also read articles where the paragraphs were switched around and not in the proper order.
Actually I agree with Freds opinion…. a youth or college band performance would have been far more enjoyable to watch than a wild glitsy freakish show.
As far as the constant criticism of the ADJ, I’m hoping it’s realized that while the ADJ may not be as perfect as the critic(s) consider themself(s) to be, this constant negative viewpoint is disgusting to many. No doubt mistakes are made but I for one would not want to try to do those writing and publishing and editing jobs.. I’m pleased the ADJ continues to do the best they can in spite of the critics…. glad they employ folks here in Antigo that enjoy what they do … glad they balance service with costs.. likely could hire several more bodies to do all that work and then have to raise prices… I prefer it the way it is and can chuckle at a mistake or two once in a while because I realize if I was doing it, I might make a mistake once in a while too…
Some folks do nothing in life to enrich society but rather get their kicks by complaining and criticizing those that actually contribute. It must be hell going through life thinking you’re perfect and spending your life criticizing others…
hold on, yes the Antigo daily journal is not perfect, but ,if you have seen what over communities our size have for newspaers, it is very good. I attended the Packer game this year when we opened the season. there was geat entertainment before the game, great concerts, etc, but during the game it was back to normal. I agree with the journal, it has gone to far,
I wouldn’t walk across the street for a free Madonna concert. As a matter of fact, you couldn’t pay me to watch a Madonna concert. Just another publicity hound that has sold her soul for 15 minutes of fortune and fame. Her own church has denounced her.
I love to read the paper and don’t mean to criticize it in a negative way. I agreeing with calling it Daily Mistake, is only because it baffles me when I read something and the paragraphs are out of place to where the article don’t make sense.

Aren’t there more important things to worry about in this world than the halftime Superbowl show? The Madonna Superbowl halftime show was probably the better ones I saw in a long time. I don’t watch the Superbowl for the halftime show, I watch it for the game, a way to forget about life, politics, and drama for a few hours.
I’d worry about Freddy Burnout’s other views, and what I think is selective journalism, more than his opinion of the Superbowl Halftime show.
Super Bowl entertainment has to be massive. It’s a national, if not worldwide, holiday. However, I get it. People have different interests. Some want more wholesome entertainment. Others want bright lights and loud music. Or maybe just a change of pace. Personally, I want the Puppy Bowl to move to the halftime show. Get those adorable little scamps on the field! A half day marathon is not enough!
