I myself have made more than one call to the mayor’s office complaining about the house on the corner of Gruber and S. Virginia St. To no avail, nothing has been done, and the house still stands. Well, minus the roof as of lately. I’ve also made a few calls to the county health nurse, that’s also gotten no response. It’s really discouraging that my grandchildren’s sandbox is now the neighborhood liter box. There is more than a great deal of ferrel cats roaming around that house, as well as the entire neighborhood. This poses not only a blight on the neighborhood, but a health hazard as well. One has to wonder if that one lone house has the ability to affect the property values of the entire block??? What does it take before the city will step in and do something about this matter?
