as far as actions i mean displinary, from the state, as in violations, my children were in their care for almost a year. i believe there is a site u can get this info from or that u can ask the director, Jodi, at the school. or try social services.

I know this is a late post, and Im not entirely sure anyone will even see or read this. But unfortunately I also have been witness to some "not so righteous" practices by the Antigo PD. And trust me, this irks me just as much to have to say this as it does to have been witness to it, being im a cop myself (in another jurisdiction).
Last spring while visiting Antigo, I was taking a late evening walk, alone, wearing a hooded sweatshirt(hood down), tennis shoes and sweat pants. I was stopped by an antigo officer, (no im not going to mention his name) and questioned about my destination etc (which is a bit strange but not entirely out of line). Where my problem began was when he asked if he could search me for weapons. I asked him why he felt the need and his exact words were "dont get smart..i have my reasons". Now searches of this sort are called Terry Stops, but they are only legal if probable cause, or reason exists I may have, am or will commit a crime. But to appease the officer, I allowed it. He then went through my wallet, emptied everything out, peeked in the pockets and handed it back. Leaving the contents on the ground. He told me to have a good evening and left. Now to all of you who have been throwing out the "c" word, yes...complaint! I have a sad but true bit of information for you. Complaints do well and fulfill their purpose in larger jurisdictions. But in small town america, not so much. Its human nature to react, or want to react to someone who has brought hardship on you. And so will that person's circle of friends and associates. And small town america is much more accomodating to such feelings than larger cities. I know this because Ive seen it, with my own two eyes. Hence why I never filed a complaint.

Actions taken against the school, that sounds pretty serious. When did your children attend? and can you give any info as to what kind of facts I should be looking into? I am fairly new to this area so I don't know anything good or bad about the employees or otherwise that is why I choose to write here in Green Bay sites like this are used often for these types of reasons.

I think no matter where you choose to live there are advantages and disadvantages. If you lived in Dallas, Las Vegas or Phoenix most never get caught up on the electric bill for running Air Conditioning 10 out 12 months. If you move someplace else you might be required to have earthquake or flood insurance. Would you rather live in a warmer climate where you have to deal with poisonous snakes, black widows, or gators sleeping in your basement? As much as I hate the cold, snow, and the expense of getting plowed out.. The grass may not always be greener on the other side. Someday I might move someday.. But I am stuck here for the time being. :)

Hardees (I thought) was overpriced. It wasn't "fast food" when you had to wait 10 or 15 minutes to get your order in hand. For my family to eat at Hardees it would cost roughly $25.00..All of us would feel hungry again a few hours later. McDonalds is about $10.00 cheaper and we are full. . Culvers is as expensive but at least the food seems higher quality, has more healthy options, and has a few unique menu items. In these economic times $6.00 to $7.00 for a combo meal is out of line. Hardees had no value menu.. Cheapest burger was $2.99 (without fries or drink)

For the wait and price you would be better off going to Two Angels or Dixie and order a dinner.

All I can say is it's about time. Besides maybe a few people at breakfast, I never saw anyone there. They have the most overpriced and unhealthy fast food you can find (over 120 grams of fat in a thickburger, more than twice your "healthy" intake). I would've hated working there, what would you do all day? It's sad to see another local business go, but when it's one that would've been smart to close years ago, it isn't as bad I guess.

Looks like the Wisconsin Rapids Hardees closed a few days ago on 12/23

On Monday morning, a closed sign was on the marquee, while on the doors of Hardee's Restaurant, 1821 Eighth St. S., Wisconsin Rapids, a letter simply apologized and redirected prospective customers to a Hardee's in Marshfield, which is owned by the same company.

The store is owned by Fred Koch of Doro, a franchise operation in Eau Claire -- Hardee's in Plover and Stevens Point are under different ownership.

Messages left for Koch and Jon Munger at the Eau Claire office of Doro was not returned Monday.
