Crandon WI Shooting – 7 dead – School canceled for tomorrow
Tyler Peterson, an off-duty Forest County Sheriff’s Deputy, shot and killed 6 people and wounded a police officer. The shooter is also dead. The injured police officer was struck by flying glass and debris and has been released from the hospital.
Tyler Peterson was 20 years old.
Preliminary reports indicate that Peterson went to the home of his ex-girlfriend, who was having a party and shot and killed 6 people, including his ex-girlfriend. Three of the victims were students of Crandon school, one of the victims was a 14 year old girl. Two of the victims are recent graduates.
Crandon School has canceled classes for tomorrow, Oct. 8.
Oct. 9 – update
The WI attorney general says Tyler Peterson likely shot and killed himself.
Peterson had one shot to the left bicep from a distance and 3 shots to the head at close range.
Two of those shots went in under his chin, with the 3rd shot believed to be the fatal shot entered thru the right side of the head.
One person did survive who was present at the home.
